Since I've already transitioned my photos to Picasa Web, and since Google Plus allows photos to be posted either privately or publicly, I've decided to highlight my best photos at that site. Which makes this blog redundant....therefore, this is the last post.

This photo is from September 2009 when Smokey and I canoed 350 miles on the Missouri River. In this picture Smokey relaxes as she watches me paddle.

I just posted a new gallery on foggytown.net. It consists of a trip I took across country last year, all backroads...no expressways, over 5000 miles.

In this picture, Shadow cools off in a reservoir in Colorado after spending time in the heat of Nevada and Utah in July.

Folder Made Public: 2003_08

I've just switched the properties on photo folder 2003_08, making it public. The photos are mostly scanned photos from a SW trip Mike and I took. Also included are my only puppy photos of Shadow...she would have been 3 to 4 months old in these folders (hard to believe that she is soon to be 8!)

I dug it out because it has my only ancient bristlecone pine photo. Below is Mike with bristlecone.

This one goes all the way back to November 2005. Assumably taken from Pt. Isabelle, the Golden Gate predominates with the Marin Headlands sitting to the right.

Big Sur Coast

Shadow and Smoke on the Big Sur coast this past August. We had driven down there to show it off to an out-of-town guest, but--as is often the case--it was fogged in. As seen in the picture, it did eventually burn off enough to make the trip worth while.

Taken almost exactly a year ago in Big Bend NP, what a great trip that was! Those are the Chiso Mountains behind her, we are about 20 miles North of Mexico.

The photo was taken with a Canon Powershot S3 IS, a camera which is currently for sale.

This is from the day after Christmas 2004. It was taken just West of Death Valley...up above a ghost town...whose name escapes me. I've spent Christmas at Death Valley 3 times now...if I had my druthers, that would become my tradition. Off the grid, out of touch, a beautiful stark spot (especially those long Winter nights); what's not to love? Mike has joined me there twice and the Popster once.

Enjoying Spring

Taken April 2005, Shadow was almost 2. Mike and I had hiked to the top of a hillock in Tilden Park. The view was to die for and the weather near perfect, a bright sunny day with a gentle breeze. I don't know if Shadow actually appreciated the day's beauty, or just picked up on our emotional response to it.
